1. Who these terms cover
Asheville.gg is an independent local directory and community website operated by Jeff Hampton. It features Asheville-area businesses, local guides, games, events, and paid business promotions. By using the site, you agree to these terms. Questions about the service go to jeff@jeffhampton.us. We are not a city agency, tourism authority, or representative of the businesses listed.
2. Accounts and responsible use
You must be at least 18 and authorized to represent your business to open a business account or buy a membership. Keep your sign-in credentials secure and your contact information accurate. Do not impersonate someone, submit false ownership claims, send spam, upload malicious code, evade access controls, harvest personal information, or disrupt the site. We may restrict accounts or remove content for misuse, fraudulent claims, security concerns, or legal requirements.
3. Business listings and ownership
Listing claims and new-listing submissions are for businesses. Landmarks, public attractions, and town guides are not business ownership claims. Submitting a claim does not establish ownership: staff reviews authority to manage the listing. Pending profile drafts stay private to the claimant and authorized staff until ownership approval. Approved owners can publish listing edits without a separate editorial approval step, subject to our content rules. Paying for Premium never substitutes for ownership verification or guarantees that a claim will be approved. A free listing and dashboard path remains available.
4. Your content and permissions
You retain ownership of the text, images, logos, event details, and other material you submit. You give Asheville.gg a nonexclusive permission to store, format, reproduce, and display that material to provide the listing and any promotion you authorize. Private drafts are stored for review and editing, rather than displayed publicly. You must have the rights and permissions needed for all submitted material, including photos of people and third-party logos. We may remove material that violates these terms or infringes rights.
5. Premium and postcard promotions
The introductory Premium offer is $199 for the first year and $399 per year on renewal, in US dollars, covering the locations attached to the same business group. The checkout states the actual price and recurring terms before you pay. Staff-recorded prepaid coverage is separate from a recurring provider subscription and does not itself authorize a new charge. The first co-op postcard offer targets 2,500 West Asheville households, with 15 total business slots and one business per primary listing category, subject to availability and confirmation. Opening checkout or entering an introductory discount does not reserve a slot. Printing and mailing are handled outside the website. We do not guarantee sales, foot traffic, advertising returns, or that every recipient reads the postcard.
6. Directory accuracy and other services
Hours, prices, ratings, accessibility details, event schedules, and business information can change. Confirm important details directly with the business or organizer before traveling or buying. Paid placement is promotion, not a certification or guarantee of quality. Purchases, bookings, and visits arranged with a listed business are between you and that business. External websites, maps, social networks, games, and payment or sign-in providers have their own terms. Social importing depends on an available, authorized connection; it is not promised merely by purchasing Premium.
7. Games, events, and contests
Games on Asheville.gg are for entertainment. A score, badge, or leaderboard position has no cash value unless a specific promotion expressly says otherwise. Each prize promotion must state its sponsor, eligibility, entry method, dates, prize, and selection rules before accepting entries. This page does not create a prize offer. Events are organized by their identified hosts, who are responsible for admission, changes, and refunds.
8. Availability and limits of responsibility
We provide the site and directory as available and do not promise uninterrupted access, complete information, or a particular business result. To the extent permitted by law, Asheville.gg and its operator are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses caused by reliance on directory content, third-party services, or interruptions. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded, including responsibility for fraud or willful misconduct.
9. Ending service, disputes, and updates
You may stop using the site at any time and request account deletion or membership cancellation through jeff@jeffhampton.us. Deleting an account does not replace cancellation of an active subscription. North Carolina law governs these terms, subject to mandatory protections where you live; courts with jurisdiction in Buncombe County, North Carolina may hear disputes unless applicable law requires otherwise. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. Material changes will be identified by an updated effective date; changes to paid terms will be communicated before applying to a future renewal. Changes do not retroactively remove rights for an existing purchase.
